When was asbestos banned?

While asbestos was once valued for its insulating and heat-resistant attributes, it later became synonymous with significant health risks. Consequently, Australia enforced a full ban on asbestos-containing products starting 31st December 2003. Any structures built after this threshold are expected to be completely devoid of asbestos.
